The broadcast will be saved as a .mov. The .mov can be opened in various applications. The .mov is a actually a link to the streaming server, which is broadcasting the stream. Another way of viewing the broadcast is by directly entering in the URL of the file on the streaming server into the quicktime player. Make sure that the clip is hinted for streaming. What is Hinting? The movie clip needs to be saved in a way that the streaming server can understand. Good translator for movies is Quicktime Professional and iMovies. Export movies as quicktime for streaming. 2. Open the application used for ftp. Fugu is used in the examples. 3. Drag and Drop the hinted movie onto the server. 4. Create a link to the clip on the server by using quicktime and entering in the URL to open. THe URL is rtsp://"the_server_name"/"Name_of_gallery"/"name_of_the_clip" 5. Export movie the same way as above. 6. Embed new .mov, created from the clip stored on the server, into a web page or open it directly. Can also include the URL directly into the web page as a link. Back to Top Having Problems Viewing Broadcast With Quicktime. Problem: Can not view the broadcast in the quicktime player. Solution: Check to see if the broadcast is still broadcasting. Check the quicktime preferences. Make sure the transport is set to HTTP.
